Pocket Chess Combinations is Convekta's new training software for the Pocket PC for intermediate players dedicated to chess combinations. This program presents 19 important themes including: mating combinations, pinning, decoying, blockading, exchanging, and many more! This course was composed by the well-known coach Ivaschenko who worked on this chess material for over 20 years. Many experts consider his handbook to be the best in the field. This program contains over 1170 specially selected combinations for you to solve. While solving, refutations of wrong moves as well as other helpful hints are shown. Multiple user profiles are available, with independent ratings and statistics for each user.

 

 

 

 

 

The program includes:

• More than 1170 combination exercises classified by themes and difficulty

When you start the program up you have the option of making a new user file or using one of the existing ones, this way each person using it will have their own statistics.

 

 

 

 

 

 

After signing in, among other options, you can go through the exercises in practice mode or test mode.

 

 

 

 

 

 

When going through the problems you can choose a specific theme of exercise or even choose by difficulty.

 

 

 

 

 

 

While solving the exercises if you don't play the strongest move the program will give a refutation and/or show pieces and squares that are key components to the combination.

 

 

 

 

 

 

After you are done going through the exercises you can see a statistics page that shows how many exercises you have completed, success rate, and time spent.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

All together, this is a great tactics training program and with it being for pocket pc it is very portable. Highly recommended if you are looking for a portable program or do not already have a chess tactics program!
